Our vision

The energy transition requires a deep transformation of the heating sector. The goal is to contribute to decarbonisation, security of supply and the integration of renewable energy through geothermal technologies and thermal energy storage.

Scientific approach

The model development combines analytical solutions and numerical modelling. Physical consistency, interpretable models and high computational speed for long-term simulations are central principles.

Importance for the future

Geothermal energy storage enables seasonal storage, decoupling of supply and demand, stable heat supply and a valuable complement to wind and solar energy.
